# Journey Membership & Loyalty Terms

These terms govern Journey membership, status, Journey Points and awards. They supplement the Journey Terms & Conditions at [journey.com/terms](https://www.journey.com/terms). The Earning Terms at [journey.com/earning-terms](https://www.journey.com/earning-terms) provide transaction rules; the Legend Paid Membership Terms at [journey.com/legend-terms](https://www.journey.com/legend-terms) govern paid Legend subscriptions. These terms take effect as communicated in your acceptance flow or existing-member notice, subject to the transition rules below.

## 1. Eligibility and network membership

Membership is for an eligible natural person at least 18 and of legal majority where they reside, with one verified personal account in good standing. The eligibility, sanctions, identity, conduct and account-security rules in the Terms & Conditions apply. We may require an invitation or verification and restrict participation in locations where the program is not offered lawfully. Neither a purchase nor a partner invitation guarantees acceptance.

Participation in a loyalty program identified as part of the Journey Alliance network requires an eligible Journey membership and acceptance of the applicable Journey and partner-program terms. Journey membership and partner-program membership are related but distinct. Names such as Traveler, Ambassador or Legend may change; a name change does not automatically change fees, confer a subscription, or authorize new sharing.

## 2. Two membership paths and three status levels

The non-subscription path provides a Journey account and the benefits applicable to the status you hold without purchasing a Legend subscription. The paid path is an optional annual Legend subscription expressly purchased under the Legend Paid Membership Terms. A person may also hold Ambassador or Legend status through a qualifying activity, invitation, promotion, migration or complimentary grant. Status alone does not prove a paid subscription or entitlement to its payment-linked bonus.

Traveler is the entry status. It provides access to the platform, certain designated member-only rates and three Journey Points per eligible US dollar collected by Journey for qualifying Nominated Property bookings made through Journey, subject to the Earning Terms. Legend members earn five Journey Points per eligible US dollar on those qualifying Journey-collected booking payments, not on all property spend. Amounts paid directly to a property, including dining, spa and other incidentals, do not qualify under this offer. Taxes, fees and other excluded amounts do not earn. "3x" and "5x" describe points per eligible US$1, not a multiplier on another points award. Member-only rates are not available for every property, room, date, channel or rate plan, and are not a promise of the lowest price.

Ambassador provides the recognition and additional benefits identified in the applicable qualification or grant offer and your account. Legend provides the benefits identified for the applicable paid or nonpaid Legend entitlement. Qualification thresholds, eligible activity, benefit quantities and validity periods must be disclosed in the applicable offer or account schedule before you undertake activity in reliance on them. No universal Alliance earning multiplier follows from either status. Benefits may differ between paid, gifted, sponsored, promotional and activity-earned status where disclosed.

Status is personal, is not a property interest or lifetime entitlement, and is not transferable except through an expressly enabled feature. Journey may prospectively change names, qualification requirements and benefit schedules subject to notice and existing entitlement protections. An already-earned status period is not shortened solely by a later change in qualification rules.

## 3. Legacy status transition

For existing members included in Journey's announced one-level transition, existing Traveler becomes Ambassador and existing Ambassador becomes Legend; a member already at Legend remains at Legend because there is no higher published tier. The individual transition notice identifies the effective date, entitlement period and any preserved awards. The upgrade will not shorten an existing status period. No member is automatically enrolled in a paid subscription, charged a fee, or given a new renewal obligation because of this migration.

A migrated, gifted or complimentary Legend entitlement does not earn the 10,000-point paid-membership bonus. Ordinary points from independently qualifying transactions remain available. Existing confirmed bookings, posted points, earned awards and previously communicated qualification commitments are handled under their applicable conditions and Section 12; a migration label does not cancel them.

## 4. Properties, partners and program boundaries

A "Nominated Property" is a hotel, residence or other lodging property expressly identified by Journey as participating in the Journey Nominated Property earning offer for the relevant booking. A search listing, directory entry, editorial recommendation or use of Journey technology alone is not nomination. The designation, qualifying booking channel and earning offer must be shown before confirmation. Nomination is booking-specific and may change prospectively.

A "Qualifying Alliance Partner" is a named legal operator or organization currently participating in the Journey Alliance network for the identified location, program, offer and transaction. An "Alliance Partner Program" is that organization's custom loyalty or recognition program administered using Journey infrastructure, including Membership Studio. It may provide Journey Points, separately identified partner credits, status, awards, discounts or other benefits, or no points at all. Participation by one location does not imply participation by all locations, brands, affiliates or booking channels.

Alliance benefits and earning vary by partner, program, transaction, status and offer. References to custom program benefits and points issuance across the Alliance network describe access to individual participating programs, not a promise that every property issues points or provides the same benefits. Network size and participating locations may change. There is no network-wide promise of five points or one point per dollar at Alliance Partners. The offer and accepted partner-program terms govern. A property may participate in more than one arrangement; the transaction must identify which offer applies and whether benefits combine. The same spend does not earn twice unless expressly stated.

## 5. Joining a partner program and member-directed information sharing

Where the booking or enrollment flow conspicuously identifies the partner and its custom program, links the applicable terms and explains enrollment, your acceptance and completion enroll you in that program. This requirement must be disclosed before you commit. An informational listing or anonymous visit alone does not enroll you. A partner program may require Journey membership but does not automatically require paid Legend membership unless that specific offer clearly says so.

When you sign in to Journey on an identified partner website, enroll with that partner, book, redeem, message it or otherwise deliberately activate a partner relationship, you direct Journey to provide the information necessary for that interaction and the program you accepted. This may include name, contact details, member identifier, status, relevant eligibility, the transaction, the partner's loyalty ledger and relevant preferences selected or disclosed for sharing.

To improve service, Journey may also make relevant elements of your broader Journey profile available to that partner within the scope disclosed to you, such as room, dining or occasion preferences and permitted experience insights. Optional broader sharing remains subject to your settings and any required consent. It does not expose your entire Journey profile, unrelated partners' transaction histories, private Concierge conversations, connected email/calendar contents, payment credentials or another person's data by default.

Journey and the engaged partner may use lawfully shared information to personalize service and relevant offers or messaging as explained in their privacy notices. Enrollment and service-sharing directions are not blanket marketing consent. Separate channel consent, sensitive-data consent, opt-outs and sale/sharing or targeted-advertising choices apply where required. Partners may not use a network relationship to obtain information about members with whom they have no authorized relationship. See [journey.com/privacy](https://www.journey.com/privacy) for roles, purposes and rights.

## 6. Who is responsible for what

Journey operates its account, technology, program administration and Journey Points ledger, and is responsible for its own promises under these terms. The identified Alliance Partner is the principal obligor for its custom program, benefit design, eligibility decisions, delivery, inventory, service quality, funding and financial obligations, including benefits and awards it creates in Membership Studio. Tracking an entitlement, showing it in a wallet or sending a reminder does not make Journey its issuer, insurer, guarantor or fulfillment provider.

Journey Points are issued and administered by Journey when validly credited as such. A partner's separate points, credits or vouchers are not Journey Points merely because they appear in a Journey interface. Their issuer and conditions must be identified. Journey does not guarantee the solvency or performance of a partner and does not assume its custom-program liabilities solely by supplying infrastructure. You must pursue a partner's unfulfilled promises against that partner, not Journey, except to the extent a claim concerns Journey's own undertaking, fault or nonwaivable legal responsibility.

## 7. Journey Points: earning, clearing and corrections

Journey Points are a conditional program benefit, not money, a deposit, investment, security, purchased stored-value balance, or transferable property right. They cannot be redeemed for cash, used as legal tender, or sold or brokered. They have no cash-out or fixed monetary value, notwithstanding the redemption-pricing commitment in Section 8. Mandatory legal rights are not excluded by this description.

The Earning Terms determine eligible spend, attribution, rates and posting. Pending or "Credit" Points are estimates subject to validation and are not ordinarily redeemable. Available or "Cleared" Points have been validated but remain subject to legitimate reversals, expiration and disclosed restrictions. A display is not an unconditional promise that an ineligible or unpaid transaction will earn points.

Journey may correct duplicate or erroneous credits, reverse points attributable to a cancelled, refunded, unpaid, fraudulent or ineligible transaction, and investigate abuse using proportionate restrictions. A legitimate chargeback, complaint or privacy request is not itself misconduct. We will provide an explanation on request and permit a good-faith correction claim. No discretionary right to change an offer permits denial of properly earned points under its accepted conditions.

A reversal may create a negative points balance. Later points may be applied to that deficit, and redemptions may be restricted until it is resolved. This is not a cash debt at US$0.01 per point and does not authorize a card debit. Recovery of an actual proven loss caused by fraud or unlawful conduct requires a lawful basis independent of the points display. Ordinary subscription cancellation does not reverse a valid paid-term bonus unless the payment is refunded or reversed or the bonus was obtained improperly.

Promotional Points may have separately disclosed eligibility, activation, booking, category, transfer, stacking, expiration or other use conditions. Material conditions must be disclosed when the promotion is offered or, for an unsolicited grant, when it is issued before use. We will not add undisclosed restrictions retroactively. Promotional restrictions do not reduce the Section 8 per-point floor for a redemption eligible under that promotion. Separately identified partner credits are governed by their own terms.

## 8. Redemption and current value-floor commitment

Available Journey Points may be redeemed only through enabled methods, against eligible inventory, at the number of points and any cash amount shown before confirmation. Taxes, charges and exclusions must be disclosed. There is no promise that every room, product, partner or date can be booked with points, or that all cash prices have points availability. A redemption is complete only when the designated confirmation is issued.

Journey's current business commitment is that an eligible redemption of Journey Points will provide at least US$0.01 of like-for-like retail redemption value per point redeemed. This is a commitment about redemption pricing, not a cash conversion right, guaranteed account balance, resale price, investment return or promise that points will never change.

"Like-for-like retail redemption value" means the contemporaneous total cash price genuinely available through the same channel to the same member for the identical product, property, room/category, dates, occupancy, inclusions and cancellation/payment conditions, minus the total cash you must still pay for the points redemption, counting each co-payment, tax and mandatory charge only once. Divide that difference by the number of Journey Points redeemed to determine the per-point value. Applicable discounts available to that member for the identical offer are reflected. We do not use an inflated rack rate, unavailable price, different cancellation rule or different room to manufacture value. For another currency, the comparison uses the exchange rate disclosed with the quote. A 10,000-point redemption must therefore offset at least US$100 of that comparable retail price while this commitment applies; this does not make 10,000 points redeemable for US$100 cash.

If a reliable like-for-like price cannot be established, Journey will not offer that item as a points redemption under this commitment. Report a discrepancy promptly and, where possible, before redeeming. We will investigate and correct a confirmed pricing or ledger error through an appropriate points adjustment, corrected quote or other required remedy. This process does not replace remedies required by law.

Journey may amend or discontinue the floor prospectively with at least 45 days' advance notice and a reasonable opportunity of at least that period to use affected available points under the existing floor, subject to inventory and any longer legal or existing contractual protection. Confirmed redemptions are not repriced retroactively. Promotional availability restrictions remain distinct from the minimum value of an eligible redemption.

## 9. Awards and partner-delivered benefits

Issued Timeless Stay Awards, Suite Elevation Awards, pet benefits, credits and other awards remain subject to the conditions disclosed when issued, including validity, participating properties, eligible categories, advance requests, inventory, blackout dates and confirmation. We honor Journey-issued commitments on those terms. An unconfirmed award is not a guaranteed stay, suite, early arrival or late departure at any property. A confirmed upgrade or time-based benefit must be honored on the terms of its confirmation by the identified obligor.

Partner-created awards are the partner's delivery and financial responsibility under Section 6. A change to future benefit schedules does not retroactively cancel a confirmed award or permit an issuer to disregard an already-issued obligation. Additional property or offer terms may apply when disclosed before commitment. No-shows, late cancellation or early departure may lead to disclosed charges or forfeiture under the accepted award rules, subject to law. If a confirmed redemption cannot be delivered, the responsible party must provide the applicable remedy; Journey will correct its own points ledger and return points when a Journey redemption is cancelled without delivery and no valid forfeiture applies.

## 10. Expiration, transfers and inactivity

Unless mandatory law or a more favorable applicable offer requires otherwise, Journey Points expire after 24 consecutive months without Qualifying Earning Activity. Such activity means a completed, eligible transaction that results in a valid Journey Points credit, including a successfully paid annual Legend membership bonus. The qualifying transaction or membership payment date controls; delayed posting will not cause a member to lose points while a timely qualifying credit is being verified.

Redemption, sign-in, browsing, status changes, receipt of a points transfer, account corrections and complimentary or unsolicited promotional grants do not reset the clock. A disclosed promotion may expressly designate an activity as qualifying for this purpose. An activity later reversed as ineligible does not reset the clock. Points with an expressly disclosed promotional expiration may expire earlier; awards have their own stated validity periods. We will send reasonable advance expiration notice to your current contact address, subject to any stronger legal requirement.

For members transitioning from an earning-or-redemption inactivity rule, a qualifying redemption made before the new rule takes effect retains its previous 24-month protection. No existing balance expires solely because of the rule change before the later of that preserved deadline or 90 days after the transition notice. Subsequent Qualifying Earning Activity starts a new 24-month period. Mandatory local restrictions on point expiration prevail.

Transfers, pooling or gifts are available only through designated features and their disclosed rules, limits and verification. They do not create cash value, extend expiration unless expressly stated, or permit sale or brokerage. Estate, incapacity, divorce and legally compelled transfers are considered upon sufficient documentation and applicable law. A Trusted Contact designation alone is not account ownership, inheritance authority or permission to transfer points.

## 11. Partner departure and program closure

A partner may leave the network, stop issuing new benefits or discontinue an integration. Journey may remove future offers and access to affected features, with notice where practicable. The partner remains responsible for its outstanding custom-program obligations, fulfillment and any required refund or compensation under its terms and law. Departure does not transfer those obligations to Journey or permit claims against Journey solely because it supplied infrastructure.

Valid Journey Points already credited do not disappear merely because the originating partner leaves. Partner-issued currencies may not convert to Journey Points or remain redeemable through Journey. A departing partner must be contacted for its outstanding awards; we may provide reasonable records or assistance without assuming the obligation. Confirmed Journey redemptions and express Journey guarantees remain subject to Journey's own obligations and applicable remedies.

Journey may terminate its program with at least 45 days' advance notice and a reasonable redemption opportunity of at least that period, subject to mandatory law, safety or legal restrictions and any longer promised protection. Closure does not cancel a confirmed supplier obligation or remove a mandatory refund right. Fraud-related forfeiture is limited to what is lawful and proportionate; unrelated valid entitlements are not automatically forfeited for a disputed transaction.

## 12. Changes, preserved commitments and disputes

Material reductions in ongoing earning, the redemption floor or program benefits, mandatory new fees and termination require at least 45 days' advance notice, except necessary legal, security or fraud changes with notice as soon as practicable. Qualification rules and offers can change prospectively. Confirmed transactions and properly earned awards retain their accepted conditions; we do not retroactively replace a disclosed earning rate because the stay completes after a change. For pre-transition bookings, the previously accepted earning and clearing rules continue to apply.

The Journey Terms & Conditions govern general warranties, liability, disputes and any applicable arbitration. Account corrections are the ordinary first remedy for a points calculation error, not the exclusive remedy for unrelated harm, unauthorized transactions or nonwaivable claims. Contact concierge@journey.com for missing points or benefit help, and legal@journey.com for legal notices.
