# Journey Points Earning Terms

These Earning Terms supplement the Journey Membership & Loyalty Terms at [journey.com/loyalty-terms](https://www.journey.com/loyalty-terms) and the Terms & Conditions at [journey.com/terms](https://www.journey.com/terms). They govern qualifying transactions under the new earning structure from the effective date communicated to you. Previously confirmed transactions retain their accepted earning and clearing conditions.

## 1. Eligibility, attribution and offers

You must have an eligible Journey account, satisfy the offer's participation conditions, and identify your membership through an enabled booking, sign-in, member-ID or attribution method. A listing or payment alone is not sufficient. The eligible channel, rate, spend basis, exclusions and any cap must be disclosed before commitment. Where no earning offer applies, the transaction does not earn points; a missing or uncertain estimate does not authorize Journey to disregard an otherwise applicable disclosed offer.

Ordinary transaction earning is available to eligible nonpaid and paid members. Only the 10,000-point paid Legend membership bonus requires a qualifying membership payment. Gifted Legend status does not prevent points from separate qualifying stays or purchases.

## 2. Nominated Properties: eligible Journey-collected booking payments

An expressly identified Nominated Property booking made through [journey.com](https://www.journey.com) or the official Journey app earns three Journey Points per eligible US dollar for an eligible Traveler member and five Journey Points per eligible US dollar for an eligible Legend member. Ambassador members earn the rate identified in their offer, or the three-point base rate where no higher rate is specified. "3x" and "5x" mean three and five Journey Points, respectively, per eligible US$1, not an additional multiplier applied to another points award. The member's qualifying status and applicable rate are identified at booking; a later status change does not retrospectively change an accepted offer. The booking must identify the property as Nominated and the rate as qualifying. A separately identified Alliance Partner offer is governed by Section 3, not an assumed Nominated rate. Other channels qualify only when expressly included in the offer.

Eligible spend is only the accommodation amount actually collected by Journey, including through a payment processor collecting on Journey's behalf, for the completed qualifying stay after discounts and refunds. It excludes taxes, government and resort/destination fees, service and platform charges, gratuities, insurance, deposits returned to you, and separately purchased extras. If Journey collects only part of a booking's price, only the eligible portion collected by Journey qualifies. Amounts paid directly to a property, provider or third party do not qualify under this Nominated Property offer, even if the stay was arranged through Journey or charged to the same card.

The Nominated Property offer is not an all-spend or hotel-folio offer. Nominated Properties are not connected to Journey's property-management-system reporting for this offer; Journey does not receive a complete record of dining, spa, bar, retail or other on-property spend. Such spend does not earn under the standard three-point or five-point Nominated offer. A separate, expressly disclosed promotion may specify its own eligible charges and verification rules. Amounts covered by points, complimentary credits or vouchers do not earn additional points unless a separate offer expressly says otherwise. Membership subscription fees are not eligible accommodation spend; the paid Legend membership bonus is separate.

The member must ordinarily be a registered guest occupying a booked room. Up to two additional rooms, three total, may qualify if all are booked in the member's name for the same dates and the member occupies one; any offer-specific exception or lower cap must be disclosed before booking. Wholesale, staff, complimentary, group, crew, opaque, resale and third-party agency rates are excluded unless expressly designated eligible. A negotiated or corporate rate is not automatically eligible; the displayed offer controls.

The three-point and five-point rates are current program offers, subject to prospective change under the Membership & Loyalty Terms and protections for previously confirmed bookings. They are not universal offers for every property displayed by Journey or a network-wide rate for Alliance Partner Programs. Completion, successful settlement, reconciliation and the exclusions in Section 4 apply.

## 3. Alliance Partner Programs

A Qualifying Alliance Partner sets the earning and benefits offered for its identified program, location and channel. Offers may include Journey Points at a disclosed rate, a fixed award, a partner currency, non-points benefits, or no points. Neither Journey-channel nor direct-partner activity carries an automatic network-wide five-point or one-point minimum.

For hotels and residences, the offer specifies whether room charges, eligible folio purchases or other activity qualify. Restaurant offers specify eligible food/beverage charges and attribution. Boutique offers specify eligible net purchases after returns. Experiences and other services qualify only as stated in their offer. Taxes, gratuities, delivery charges, third-party items, gift cards and stored-value purchases are excluded unless expressly included and lawful. Age-restricted products never override legal eligibility.

Bookings through an online travel agency or another third-party channel do not qualify unless the offer expressly includes that channel. A discretionary one-time goodwill credit does not establish a continuing entitlement. Once an earning offer is accepted and its conditions met, Journey and the responsible partner cannot revoke it merely because later offers are less generous.

## 4. Calculations, validation and posting

Points are calculated on eligible net spend, using the US-dollar conversion rate disclosed with the offer or the payment conversion recorded for that transaction. Whole points are rounded down after calculating the eligible transaction total unless the offer states a more favorable method. Points estimates may change for a legitimate adjustment to price, eligible spend, refunds or foreign-exchange settlement; not because a later earning schedule is substituted.

For new bookings under these terms, booking-stage points are pending and ordinarily become available only after the stay, delivery or experience is completed, payment is successfully settled and eligibility is reconciled with the relevant system of record. The standard target is posting within 28 days after completion and receipt of the required transaction data. Partner reporting or a genuine dispute may delay validation; we will investigate and explain material delays on request. A different or accelerated schedule must be expressly disclosed. "Non-refundable" alone does not make unperformed services eligible for final credit.

Cancelled, refunded, unpaid, charged-back or ineligible portions do not earn points; completed eligible portions may still qualify. No-shows do not qualify merely because a cancellation charge was paid, unless an express offer provides otherwise. Reversals and negative points balances are governed by the Membership & Loyalty Terms, with no automatic conversion into cash debt.

## 5. Paid Legend bonus, promotions and status credit

The 10,000-point Legend annual membership bonus is governed solely by the Legend Paid Membership Terms. It is issued once for a successfully paid qualifying annual membership term, including a paid renewal, not simply for holding Legend status. A gift, complimentary upgrade, trial, failed payment or zero-fee status grant is not a qualifying payment.

Promotional points may carry disclosed participation and use restrictions, including expiration, eligible channels, minimum spend, redemption windows, nontransferability and non-combination. Applicable conditions must be available before participation or at issuance for an unsolicited grant. Multiple offers do not stack unless expressly allowed; the applicable combination must be disclosed, not selected adversely after the transaction.

Bonus, gifted, transferred, purchased if separately offered, and promotional points do not count toward activity-based status qualification unless the relevant status offer expressly includes them. Paid Legend status is an entitlement from the accepted subscription, not an assumption that bonus points satisfy another program's threshold.

## 6. Missing credit and corrections

Submit a missing-credit request to concierge@journey.com within 12 months after the qualifying activity, with reasonable transaction evidence, unless law requires a longer period. Do not send full card numbers or unnecessary sensitive documents. We may allow new members credit for eligible activity in the 30 days before enrollment, but only where the offer permits retroactive enrollment and attribution can be verified. Preserve receipts and booking confirmations.

Journey will reconcile the accepted offer and reliable transaction records, correct a confirmed error and explain an adverse decision on request. Technical reporting failures do not themselves erase a substantiated contractual entitlement. The notice, dispute, expiration and consumer-rights provisions of the Membership & Loyalty Terms and Terms & Conditions apply.
