How does Epicurate work?

Epicurate is a platform enabling access to a curated collection of professional fine dining chefs focused on discerning clientele. Its revolutionary design allows members to browse chefs’ menus directly and modify, book and confirm easily.

How can I book my next in-home dining experience?

Simply create an account to start browsing bespoke menus from our vetted chefs. Once you find a delicious looking experience, you can make a deposit to reserve the chef for your date.   You can select a menu, or invite others in your group to work on it with you. The chefs direct contact info is on your event page and you can also make notes and requests about specific dishes right on the site. Final details have to be finalized 10 days before your event and payment is will be charged to the card on file 7 days before your event. On the day of your event, the team will arrive 2 hours prior to your started seating time in order to set the table and prepare. Dinner will be served based on the service style selected, but the team will always clean up after and leave you with a clean kitchen and satiated palate.

How is pricing determined?

Each experience starts with a base price which includes the noted number of selections from each course. All pricing is listed per person and will be billed according to the final guest count. Additional selections will add additional charges, as will menu items marked with a supplemental charge. Some experiences also offer opportunities for add-ons such as wine pairings, locally made plateware, bottled water, etc. which will all be priced accordingly.

Can I create a proposal to show my group before completing the payment for the deposit?

Experiences must be confirmed with a deposit before you can share the menu with others in your party. Not to worry though, the deposit simply reserves the chef and experience for the selected date and location. You can then work on the menu with your group until 10 days before the event.

Can I modify the menus and add dietary restrictions?

Absolutely! You can always click on the menu item name in the menu cart to make a note with modification requests. Once your deposit is confirmed, you will be provided with the chefs direct contact information as well.

Can I modify my event details after booking?

Of course! Details don’t need to be finalized until 10 days before the event.

How does payment work? 

You can provide payment via a credit card or bank transfer. Payment transactions are handled securely through Stripe.

When am I charged?

Deposits are charged at the time of initial booking. Final payment is due 7 days before the event and will be charged to the card on file or can be paid by another method before that date.

Do I get a receipt?

Yes, you can view your receipt on your event detail page and a copy will be mailed to you directly by Stripe.

What do I need to provide for the chef prior to the arrival for the event? 

If you will not be home at the time of our team’s arrival, please let us know how we can access the property. Our team really appreciates walking into a clean kitchen as it allows us the most time to focus on the food, service, presentation and of course interaction with our guests.

Is gratuity (tip) included?

Yes, a 20% gratuity is included for all events. The goal is to make it so money is never mentioned during the event.

Can I communicate with a chef in my selected location for a customized menu? 

Absolutely! Once your experience has been confirmed, your chef’s contact info is always listed on the event detail page. Please note that our chefs are busy with events and might not be able to answer right away. What is your cancellation policy?

For events more than 30 days in the future, deposits can be used to reschedule events for another date. Within 30 days of the event deposits are non-refundable.
